This WHQ advice note was published in February 2011 and sits alongside the statutory guidance Provision of Accommodation for 16 and 17 year old young people who may be homeless which was issued by the Welsh Assembly Government in September 2010. The guidance contained in the advice note considers young people from school age up to the age of 21 and looks at homelessness prevention, as well as tackling homelessness, if and when, it arises.
The purpose of this guidance is to assist departments and teams within local authorities and partner agencies to work effectively together to prevent and tackle homelessness amongst children and young people.
