Funded by the Welsh Assembly Government

i2i projects

We carry out a number of i2i projects with Local Authority and other partners ranging form development projects to seminars and other events. In addition i2i have produced a number of publications, which include reports on specific issues, and good practice guidance.

Currently i2i are involved in a number of ongoing projects, and are working with partners on a number of publications

Current projects

As WHQS investment grows across Wales concerns have been raised about the procurement processes of social landlords both Local Authority and RSL, that tend to overlook the capabilities of local small and medium enterprises (SME’s) to both tender for and carry out the work specified in the larger sized contracts. The end result is that SME’s are losing out to large national and multi national contractors for locally based work. i2i is exploring the potential for an additional publication to the “Can do toolkit” aimed at addressing shortcomings in client side skills, work packaging issues, relationship management issues between main and sub contractors.

The Welsh Assembly Government is funding a second guide, commissioned by Constructing Excellence in Wales focussing on the lessons learnt from stock transfer at Cartrefi Conwy. the aim is to distil advice and knowledge from an organsation that has been born from the stock transfer process and reflect on its experience. The report will be available in early 2010. For more information contact Dewi Llwyd Evans

Torfaen Quality and Design Forum - QDF
