Tenant Empowerment Grants

Welcome to the Tenant Empowerment Grant (TEG) pages hosted by the WHQ website. TEG is a Welsh Assembly Government programme providing independent funding to tenant groups that want to explore ways of having more control over their homes and communities.

Access to the TEG pages of the website is free.

The TEG programme was set up by the Welsh Assembly Government to deliver its commitment to make grant funding available to local authority and housing association tenants and residents who want to explore future options for the management and control of their homes and communities.

The range of initiatives funded has been wide-ranging, involving local authority and housing association estate groups, tenants and residents from BME communities, mixed tenure groups, and people with physical disabilities and other distinct support needs. For further information please refer to the list of current and completed projects.

Since the programme was launched in 2002 almost £400,000 has been allocated to more than 50 projects from all parts of Wales. The scheme was re-launched in July 2005 and the Assembly has committed a further £450,000 over 3 years.

For further information about the programme please refer to the About TEGs page. For a more detailed explanation of the terms and conditions please refer to the Guidelines for Tenant and Resident Groups and Approved TEG Agents accessible from the Applying for a TEG page.

The TEG programme is managed by Chartered Institute of Housing Cymru for the Welsh Assembly Government. We welcome feedback on these web pages as well as comments and queries on any aspect of the TEG programme. For further information contact us at:
